SAP Experience Summary

My SAP experience is a combination of project leadership and technology planning. My most valuable contribution has been in identifying and articulating issues based on observation and intuition, communicating them appropriately to all levels and assuring their resolution to guarantee smooth roll-outs.

I. Project Experience

A. Planning and Negotiation:

  • Handled the approach to consulting firms in Japan, Korea and Hong Kong: presented  projects plans (core system, subsidiary profiles and SEB business framework)
  • Negotiated timeframes, deliverables, budgets and staffing requirements with Andersen Consulting and Price Waterhouse

B. Communication and Coordination

  • Served as focal point for communication between Groupe SEB and external parties

  • Coordinated between consulting firms in Asia and Center of Expertise staff at HQ

  • Created and executed communication plan for subsidiaries (surveys, intro information packets, kick-off events, updates)

  • Monitored progress and handled crises

C. Business Process Re-Engineering

  • Analyzed current business practices in light of Groupe SEB best practices

  • Determined options in terms of technical infrastructure, business needs and change management demands (including: training, planning and execution)

  • Troubleshot implementation problems both technical and organizational

D. Project Execution

  • Supervised consultants and project issue resolution

  • Negotiated hardware purchase and Service Level Agreements with vendors & system integrators

  • Systematized customization approval & tracking

  • Responsible for facilitating key user participation

  • Reported to local and regional managements

II. Hands-on Work

  • Loading of R/3, customized country version and Oracle database on ProLiant 2500 platform

  • CMMS configuration (scheduling backups, verification of system logs)

  • Set-up of SAP user authorization profiles (in assist role) for user access control

  • CTS execution (customization transporting from develop to production system)

III. Research and SAP Liaison

  • Investigation into multi-language function (double-byte) with different versions and operating systems vis a vis SAP in Germany, Japan and Korea

  • Hardware scaling based on response times at anticipated R/3 system loads

IV. Formal Training

  • SAP courses attended 1997: SAP 50 (Basis Tech), BC080 (Efficient R/3 Implementation) and BC360 (Technical Core Competence Unix/Oracle)

  • Groupe SEB ‘core system’ testing and introduction (FI/CO, SD, MM)
