GW Jones IT Experience Summary

A combination of creative technical and business skills acquired in an international context. From hardware, software and telecoms to consulting, IT management and project leadership, the breadth of my work has given me a broad industry overview with specialization in the following areas.

I. General Experience

A. Planning and Negotiation:

sold and managed datawarehouse/campaign management/business intelligence projects
planned SAP rollout in 3 countries, negotiated with, and directed, consultants
negotiated time-frame/budgets for telecom and technical support with ISP’s and hardware suppliers
designed network architectures, h/w scaling based on system loads/traffic

B. Project Execution

project status reporting, customization approval/tracking, global SAP liaison
supervision of outside consultants’ progress with users and issue resolution
reporting to local and regional management for local IT and business issues

C. Communication and Coordination

served as focal point for communication between local IT consultants and software developers in Israel, clients and project HQ in London for Sumitomo
set-up IT departments, SAP project framework, systems integration, hardware procurement at Groupe SEB
delivered on full range of IT needs; desktop support, user interviews, recruitment, orientation and managing of technical staff.

D. Networking/Telecom

negotiated with ISP and other telecom service providers (Equant, HKT, Korea Telecom, KDD)
set-up of servers, cabling, routers, switches, video-conference, PBX, internet
worked with Novell Netware at Cargolux, WinNT at Infomedia and SEB
troubleshot email implementation problems, technical and organizational

oversaw upgrade to Win95 and Office 97, intro of corporate internet access
