1980-1981   Princeton University, USA - Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (one year, no degree)

• Attended one year of computer science courses for engineering majors. Focus on programming in Fortran, Pascal and APL. 

1977-1980   Princeton University, USA - BA Bachelor of Arts in East Asian International Affairs

• Earned Bachelor of Arts degree in East Asian International Affairs, focusing on 20th Century Sino-Japanese relations. 

1978-1979   National Taiwan University, Taipei - Chinese History

• Attended NTU for one year as an undergraduate; all coursework and classes in Chinese. Studies included  history, literature and creative writing. Was the first Westerner to attend NTU as a regular student. 

1975-1977   Sophia University, Japan - International Relations

• As the first Westerner to attend Sophia as a regular student, I started with general education courses, later concentrating on Japan's relations in East Asia. All classes and coursework in Japanese.

• SAP Training: SAP 50 (Basis Tech), BC080 (Efficient R/3 Implementation) and BC360 (Technical Core Competence Unix/Oracle).

• Completed a six-month course on marketing theory and practice with case studies from Luxembourg, France, Belgium and Germany.

• Completed training in network maintenance and mainframe operation on HP3000 and Unisys 2200.
